A 5K run around Shipley Country Park, in partnership with Heanor Running Club. Put on for Free courtesy of Decathlon.
What Kind of Race Is It? Road Race
What Distance is the Race (roughly)? 5Km
Why Do You Recommend this Race?
A nice free little local race put on by decathlon, for a quick whip around Shipley Park. A nice goodie bag top and medal at the finish . A brilliant addition to any race calendar, great for all ages and all abilities and did I mention it's free :) !!

this event incorporating a Community 5k and Midsummer 10k race
A perfect way to spend the Friday evening, families welcome
The Community 5k race starts at 6.45pm
The Midsummer 10k starts at 7.30pm
Medals to all finishers.
The Race HQ is Shipley Hall Cricket Club for Race Number Collection, Free Car parking, Toilets, Changing/showers, Bar/refreshments, Local Running retailer, First Aid and Presentation area.
What Kind of Race Is It? Road Race
What Distance is the Race (roughly)? 5Km and 10Km
Why Do You Recommend this Race?
This is another great local race , run by Heanor running club. I love again the concept of running in the evening rather than a morning race. This is a quick whip around Shipley Park usually is a muddy affair but great competition from other clubs and always has great support from watchers and marshals

Briefly Tell Us About the Race Format
Starting on Smithy Row in Nottingham City Centre, the route takes you past famous landmarks, including Nottingham Castle and Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem before a picturesque return along the Notts-Beeston Canal. You will then take in the Lace Market before heading back to the finish.

What Distance is the Race (roughly)? 5Km
Why Do You Recommend this Race?
A very early morning kick off of 5:30am , for a lap around Nottingham before heading off to work and going about your day. The bling for this one is always fab and tops are always striking ! The event is always well marshaled and a great excuse to get out there and give it ago!

Briefly Tell Us About the Race Format
The races are flat out and back along the embankment and welcomes runners of all standards, including beginners. Part of a four-race series, there will be a medal and finish line goodies to all finishers at each event.
There are also prizes and trophies for winners and winners of vet categories, plus team prizes and a special series prize for 1st Male and 1st Female. Points scored in each race count towards the overall Series prizes (the first 100 male and female finishers in each race score points), with points awarded for race positions and the best three races to count towards series results.

This race is perfect for training through winter and a great reason to keep it up through the cold dark days.
This event kicks off in December and runs one race each month till February. You can enter the full series to be in line for and overall score prize or a team prize. or you can just rock up to 1 or 2 , they are very reasonable priced for on the day abut £7-£10.
The course is very flat and very quick, not to busy of an event averages around 70. I love its one because it starts at around 7:30pm on a Wednesday so i can dash straight from work over to this one. Lovely little local event with a bit of bling and some treats at the finish !
