Robin Hood Half Marathon
Recommended by: Jason Buckley and Zoe Attenborough
Briefly Tell Us About the Race Format
The Robin Hood Half Marathon is one of the longest established and most popular city centre road events in the UK. It is also the largest charity fundraising event in the City raising over £320,000 for charity in 2019.
The course itself is great for both seasoned runners and beginners alike – for beginners whose key objective is to complete the course, to more regular long-distance event runners, looking to beat their personal best time. It is a single lap 13.1 mile (21.1km) traffic-free course. The race starts and finishes in Victoria Embankment and is undulating so not all flat, there are a couple of inclines at the start of the route when your legs are more up for it (mile 2, 4 and 6).
A picturesque route taking you along Victoria Embankment, River Trent, past Nottingham Castle, Robin Hood statue, The Park and Wollaton Park where you're bound to see a few Deer roaming. Finishing on Victoria Embankment Recreating ground next to the River Trent.

Why Do You Recommend this Race?
These reasons:
- It's our 'home city', just being a few miles from Kimberley.
- It gets great KADS support, with lots of the club taking part or shouting support from along the course.
- It gets good public support, so there aren't many sections without spectators.
- It has the 'big half' feel.

A half marathon which is a multi stage trail run around the parks and trails of Sheffield. friendly Marshall’s & beautiful route
What Kind of Race Is It? Trail Race
What Distance is the Race (roughly)? Half Marathon
Why Do You Recommend this Race?
It’s definitely a challenge - the hills are brutal but the views and trails are worth it. It’s a relatively new race - in 2020 it will be its 7th year - and it’s become so popular that last year it went to a ballot entry system. So you need to sign up quickly.
