The Boston (UK) Marathon
Recommended by: Jason Buckley
Briefly Tell Us About the Race Format
The flattest road marathon in the UK, racing through the fields and villages of Lincolnshire. Not to be confused with the historic Boston marathon in the USA!
What Kind of Race Is It? Marathon (or Half)
What Distance is the Race (roughly)? 26.2 Miles
Why Do You Recommend this Race?
Did I mention there are no hills? Nothing. It's dead-pan flat. The race organisers told us they'd had to get the Manchester Marathon to correct their website as their course is almost flat, but not as flat as Boston.
What Month Does the Race Take Place? April
Where is the Race (nearest town) Boston, Lincs
Any more info (web links, course description etc)?
There are half and full marathons taking place on the same route. The aid stations provide water at intervals, and a fruit station in the later miles of the marathon. There are no sports drinks or gels provided though. The race has a small town intimate feel to it, and has none of the hassle of the bigger races with parking etc. We spent a weekend at Boston with some fellow KADS, enjoying a good laugh (at least after the race - it was a bit tense the night before - race report here!).
