On Wednesday 9th August Kads put on their second Foodbank run. This time was a little different to the run in February, the lack of layers being the most notable one. Club honory member David James who no longer lives locally just happened to be in the area visiting and joined us for the occasion which was a nice touch.
The team left Kimberley Cricket club with a rucksack of goods and set off to Eastwood Foodbank. All members ran at one pace to suit all on the 5 mile all round trip. We'd like to say a big thankyou to for the volunteers for the endless work they put in and for opening up later for us all to drop off supplies. We look forward to the next one.

Five races, big Kads turnoutsThe summer league got under way with race one over at Teversal. The first league race always brings a good turnout and this season followed in tradition. Ryan Stocks came home as first male for the club whilst Helen Woods came home as first Lady for the club.
Onto race two and we headed up to the dreaded hills of Cromford. It was a hot night with some Kads making their Cromford debut, those that ran the course the previous year were more aware of the tough night ahead. Aston and Mark were part of the cheer squad on the bridge as Kads entered the home stretch. Ryan Stocks was once again the first male home for Kads whilst Helen Woods also took the crown as first Lady Kad home. For the third race we headed over to Denby but not for a pottery class this time. Not the most popular of courses for the team but a good representation was once again on show. Ryan Stocks made it 3 from 3 as the first Kads male home whilst Helen Woods also made it 3 from 3 as the first Kads lady home as she agonisingly mossed out on finishing first lady overall. We then headed over to the photo worthy Carsington Water for the fourth instalment of the series. We had a decent turnout despite the venue being a bit of a trek for a midweek run. club coach Michael Perry took the crown of first Kads male home this time around whilst Helen Woods made it 4 from 4 in being the first female Kad home. Onto the final race of the BDL summer season and not so far away was Shipley Country Park. A good showing of Kads both on and off the course with several injured Kads coming along to show their support and encouragement. Michael Perry came home as first male Kad whilst Helen Woods completed the set by coming first lady Kad home in each race of the series. We had a lot of Kads making their debuts over the summer and we can only hope that this is just a taste of what we have install for you over the summer of 2024. Well done to you all |
