How to enter the Kads London Ballot Place
Each year England Athletics shares out a set number of London Marathon places among affiliated clubs. KADS is allocated a single place. We allocate this to a club member each year through an internal ballot process. To try and make this as fair as possible, the club places the following restrictions on who can enter the ballot.
London Marathon KADS Entry Criteria
To be eligible to take part in the KADS London Marathon ballot, members need to meet all these criteria:
✅ Evidence of volunteering for KADS between the previous draw date and current draw date.
✅ Ballot entrants need to have paid for at least 2 consecutive memberships, so will have to have renewed membership at least once after joining.
✅ Provide proof of a rejection from the current London Marathon public ballot.
✅ Are first claim KADS members.
✅ Are EA affiliated before the end of the current London public ballot.
✅ Will continue to be a member of KADS at the time of the race.
✅Have not had the club place in the previous 3 years.
✅Have not obtained a ‘Good for Age’ or ‘Championship’ place (if this is a possibility, a reserve name will be drawn).
In terms of volunteering, any of the following count:
Whoever wins the club place must also be aware that:
📝 The club place may only be transferred to another member of KADS who meets the above criteria and only with the permission of the committee.
📝 The runner representing the club at the race will be expected to wear their KADS vest or t-shirt.
* GFG Volunteering - This will be for the GFG event taking place BEFORE the draw i.e. previous year. If the participant is unable to fulfil the volunteering due to genuine emergencies then this will be taken into consideration and a decision made by the committee. The London Marathon place isn’t released to the club until November however we appreciate accommodation and travel plans may already be in place.
