5k Course
The 5k course is 3 laps and starts near the car park.
It heads up the path then turns right and goes all the way down to a turn around point. From there runners head back up the way then came until they reach a T junction where they turn left. On lap 1 they turn left at the next Y junction and go around the lake. The path then heads past the finish funnel, crossing a short section of grass. If this area is muddy there is an option to go through the car park instead. This involves opening two gates and (of course) being careful to check for any moving cars.
This brings you back to the start for lap 2. This follows the same path up and around to the right, but this time you turn right at the T junction and don't go down to the turnaround. At the Y junction you turn right and head again past the finish funnel.
Lap 3 is the same as lap 1, but finishes at the funnel set up on the grass near the start area.
So the total run involves one long lap (down to the turnaround and left around the lake), one short lap (turning right at the T junction and not going around the lake) and another long lap. There are signs/marshals to help ensure you go the right way.
